Release Day!

I’m snoopy dancing and confetti tossing to celebrate the release of my historical fiction debut which hit bookshelves both–real and cyber–this morning.

Romantic Times Magazine called SECRETS OF NANREATH HALL “As fun as a Downton Abbey episode”. If that’s not something to cheer about, I don’t know what is. But see for yourself. It’s available in paper, e-book, and audio.

See You In San Diego!

Unknown

I’m packing my bags for next week’s Romance Writers of America’s National Conference in San Diego, CA. While I won’t be participating in the “Readers For Life” Literacy signing, I will be at the Avon Open House on Friday 7/15 at 9:45 with lots of copies of SECRETS OF NANREATH HALL. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi!

Early Reviews Are In…

Secrets of Nanreath Hall isn’t due to release until August 2nd 2016 but already some gracious and talented authors have taken time out of their hectic schedules to read it, and the reviews have been all I could have hoped for and more…

“In this compelling and heartwarming novel, Alix Rickloff shares with us two women, mother and daughter, whose tragic and triumphant lives intertwine through two world wars. The story pulls us into the universal struggle of all women to find their places in their worlds. I was deeply moved.” (Karen Harper, New York Times bestselling author of The Royal Nanny)

“Filled with secrets that kept me turning pages to get to the mysterious truth. At the heart, this is a novel about searching for one’s identity. The vivid writing combined with such an intriguing story make Alix Rickloff an exciting voice in historical fiction.” (Renee Rosen, bestselling author of White Collar Girl)

“Alix Rickloff’s debut is a delight – beautifully written with fascinating characters, rich historical detail and an intriguing family mystery that keeps the pages turning.” (Hazel Gaynor, New York Times bestselling author)

“Telling an elegant tale about a mother and daughter trying to find themselves in the midst of two very different world wars, Alix Rickloff establishes herself as an up and coming talent in the historical fiction genre.” (Stephanie Dray, author of America’s First Daughter)

“In this engaging and deftly plotted novel, Alix Rickloff introduces us to two heroines who are […] so memorable and richly portrayed that they all but leap off the page. I loved Secrets of Nanreath Hall […] and I eagerly await more from this sensitive and gifted novelist.” (Jennifer Robson, International Bestselling author of Moonlight Over Paris)

Bligh Family Series Update

Happy almost New Years Eve, everyone! If you’ve tried to purchase either of my para-storical Bligh Family series titles in the last few weeks, you might have noticed that retailers are telling customers that both books are currently unavailable. I plan on spending time this coming year working to repackage the series and re-release both books in 2016 along with a third and brand-new story featuring a mysterious Bligh cousin whose upbringing was a bit more otherworldly than usual.

Look for updates here and on Facebook as I move through the process, but know that I’m working as fast as I can. Hopefully, the lapse in availability won’t be too much of an inconvenience. Thanks for your patience!

November News

Well, I’ve finally done it. My brand-spanking new website is complete. It’s been a long time coming but I couldn’t be happier about having both author personas and all my books in the same place. It’s like gathering all my children back together again under—and just in time for the holidays.

And speaking of holidays, it’s been a busy month at my house. I completed revisions for Secrets of Nanreath Hall and sent them back to my editor who I hope is even now raving over my mastery of the English language. We’re anticipating an August 2016 release for my debut historical fiction novel (Amazon already has it up as a pre-order) though no cover yet. I’ve seen quite a few great options, but we haven’t hit on that one perfect image. I promise to post it here as soon as we do.

In the meantime, I’m banging away on the first draft of its as yet untitled follow-up. It’s not due until next summer which makes me feel like I have oodles of time, but I know how deadlines can creep up on you when you’re not looking so I’m trying to stay nose to the grindstone until it’s finished. Right now, I’m deep in the weeds which is always a tough place to be. It’s the phase where I can’t possibly see a way to the end and all seems at its darkest. (my own personal black moment). Then the a-ha moment hits and I’m off to the races. At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. We’ll see.

If you’re looking to comment on anything I post here, ask a question, or just shoot the breeze, you can check me out on Facebook or Twitter. I hang out at both places under both author names so there are lots of places (and ways) to chat with me.

I hope to check in often, but if I don’t get the chance before the chaos of the holidays hit, I want to wish everyone a bright December with family and friends.
